Frequently asked questions
Does the AI Act apply to SMEs? +
Yes. As soon as a company uses or deploys an AI system, it is covered as a "deployer." Obligations vary by system risk level, not company size.
What are the fines under the AI Act? +
Up to €35 million or 7% of global turnover for prohibited systems. Up to €15 million or 3% for non-compliance. Up to €7.5 million or 1% for incorrect information.
When do we need to be compliant? +
Prohibitions have applied since February 2025 and Article 50 transparency duties since August 2026. The AI Omnibus moved the main Annex III high-risk rules to December 2027 and product-embedded rules to August 2028. With our support, a first inventory and a prioritised roadmap typically take 2 to 4 weeks.
